One thousand compounds!

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I communicate the synthesis of compound number 1000!

It is a cysteine ​​protease inhibitor that was synthesized by our colleague Rafael Lameiro in his Master’s project: Neq1000.

This fact does not only merit a numerological memory, but it constitutes the consolidation of our research group as one of the best and most efficient research groups in Medicinal Chemistry in Brazil, with an international reputation.

We have identified excellent inhibitors of cysteine ​​proteases over the years. Some of them are also anti-infection and anti-tumor agents which put us in a very important international competition scenario.

Our task is fundamental to the maintenance of human health and our contribution will surely bear fruit.

This milestone impinges us to critical planning of our future activities that I invite all to participate actively in this project.
